iRAD implemented in Kerala

Kerala March 2022:

The goal of the “Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD)” project is to improve road safety in India, resulting in a “Safe Road for All.” The project has been implemented in all 14 districts of Kerala after the pilot implementation of the project in two initial Police districts.

Initially, a meeting was held by State Nodal Officer of the Police Department (ADGP, SCRB) with the SCRB team, iRAD Chennai team, Kerala Road Safety Authority and NIC Kerala as part of implementing iRAD in the state.

Moreover, internal meetings were held with the Police Department, Transport Department, Road Owning authorities and Health Department as part of implementing the iRAD project.

A review meeting was also conducted by the State Nodal Officer of the iRAD project and Chairman of Kerala Road Safety Authority with the nodal officers of stakeholder departments (Police, MVD, PWD & Roads, Health Department) to evaluate the progress of implementation of iRAD in the state.

Various training programmes were conducted for the Police Department, Transport Department and Road Owning Authorities with the help of the State Rollout Manager (SRM) and District Rollout Managers (DRMs).

The following are the statistics of training programmes provided by the Kerala NIC team on the IRAD online and offline platform to stakeholder departments as on April 30, 2022. The total number of accident cases reported on the iRAD portal as on April 30, 2022 is 5422.
